Beta Basics
Invitations to be a member of Beta are given to those students who have a 3.5 grade point average (G.P.A.) from their previous school year. Following the initial invitation, grade point averages are checked after each nine-week grading period to verify grades. Anyone falling below the required G.P.A. of 3.5 is placed on probation for one grading period. If the G.P.A. is not returned to the 3.5 standing, the student is inactivated from the Beta roll.
Beta club is a service organization for our school, community, state, and nation. Members are required to participate in service projects. Various projects are offered throughout the year and members are encouraged to participate in as many as possible. Some of our projects include Shamrocks for Muscular Dystrophy, Operation Christmas Child (shoebox), and collecting canned goods and blankets . Members are also encouraged to attend the State Beta Club convention in Birmingham where they may enter various academic and artistic competitions.
