DECA is a Marketing student organization.  WHS DECA is a fun way to help students develop skills for business careers, build self-esteem, and experience leadership opportunities.  Our local DECA chapter is state & nationally affiliated and has participated in numerous leadership opportunities & competitions at both levels. Monthly DECA meetings will be held during Indian Period on the second Thursday of the month & are announced via Remind, Instagram, & Facebook. National DECA month is November.  DECA members, stay tuned for details about each week's activities & dress up days!! Seniors must have earned a minimum of 30 DECA points to wear the DECA cords at graduation.

Membership: Fees are $40 & due by September 30th. You can pay Mrs. Vittore in E1 via cash or check or follow the link after submission to pay via MySchoolBucks. This cost includes Local, State, & National Membership, as well as, the 2025 DECA t-shirt!

DECA Points: Each school year DECA Members have a goal of 30 DECA points to obtain. 

* Dress up days are each worth 1 point

* DECA Community Service opportunities are worth 1-5 points

* Outside community service may also be counted towards your total ONLY if they are preauthorized by Mrs. Vittore, there is a 12 point cap on outside community service points. 

DECA does not count hours but rather acts of service. A minimum of 5 points must be obtained by participation in DECA events including meetings.

Officers & Potential Officers: To run for office you must obtain a minimum of 30 DECA points via the above standards, be a current member in good standing, & cannot have ECAP or multiple issues of ISS in the year you run for office.

Diamond Graduation Cords - 30 points obtained Junior & Senior years (1 blue cord & 1 white & silver cord)                                                                          Double Diamond Graduation Cords - 30 points obtained Sophomore, Junior, & Senior years (1 blue & silver cord & 1 white & silver cord)                                  Marketing Student of the Year - Must have a minimum of 2 Marketing Courses

We also co-sponsor the Miss Warrior Pageant which has a long tradition at WHS & as of 2025 is a scholarship program!

Launch - September @ Troy University (open to any member wishing to compete at state)
County DECA Competition - November 15th (lab students required attendance)
