Biography
Dear Parents,
I am Latoya Bell and I will be your child's counselor. I am so glad to be a part of the Wetumpka High School family! I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself both personally and professionally.
I grew up in Evergreen, Alabama, home of the Conecuh Sausage. I loved the rural life as a child, but I currently enjoy living in Montgomery, Alabama. I love to travel, cook, and read a variety of literature. I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in Marketing in 2003. I began my journey in education in 2000 as a pre-school teacher while I attended school in Auburn. I worked with children from 6 weeks of age to age 6. It was after working in the financial sector for three years that I decided that I should be in the classroom. I graduated from Auburn University Montgomery with a Bachelor of Education degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in 2008. In addition, I also hold a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama (2010) and a Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology (2012) from Auburn University Montgomery. This is my nineteenth year in the education field.
I am looking forward to a very exciting and productive year working with your child. My primary concern is the success of your child. I believe in instilling the highest of expectations in children because when they know that you believe in them, they will always put forth their best effort. You are the most important person in your child's life and I know if we work together, your child will have a very successful year. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email, latoya.bell@elmoreco.com.
